HTPG Announces New Next-Gen II Air Cooled Condensing Units

Units feature increased efficiency and durability, and easy access for service

Duluth, GA – February 8, 2017 – Heat Transfer Products Group, LLC (HTPG), manufacturer of commercial refrigeration equipment sold under the recognized brands of Russell, Witt, Kramer and ColdZone, announces the new Next-Gen II, 3 to 22 HP Air Cooled Condensing Units. “These new condensing units are a significant improvement over the legacy 3 to 22 HP models, incorporating design features from the award-winning Next-Gen MiniCon Air Cooled Condensing Units, to improve efficiency, performance, and easier serviceability,” said Paul Westbrook, HTPG’s director of sales and marketing. Next-Gen II units have an expanded range of compressor types for use with low global warming potential (GWP) refrigerants and also include more standard features than the previous legacy models.

For operating stability and increased system effectiveness, the Next-Gen II units feature a 70°F floating head pressure control valve and an integral sub-cooling circuit that allows saturated liquid to flow from the receiver to the condenser where the refrigerant is sub-cooled by ambient air. This provides an average of 3 to 5°F of sub-cooling for higher operating efficiency while assuring optimal expansion device operation.

The new models are built for easier service and extreme durability. The units have an open view flow-through equipment guard, externally mounted service valves for quick access from the exterior of the units, along with removable top and side panels. The large electrical control box includes ample space for optional components, a swing-wide hinged door, color-coded wiring and an easy-to-read point-to-point wiring diagram for easy maintenance. The all-weather G90 galvanized steel painted enclosure provides superior protection from the elements.

Next-Gen II condensing units are designed to utilize low GWP refrigerants R407A, R407C, R407F, R448A and R449A. The versatile units are offered with reliable and efficient Copeland discus™, scroll™ or semi-hermetic Bitzer compressors, are available as medium, extended medium or low temperature models, and with or without flooded head pressure control. The models are UL and cUL listed.

Standard units include the previously mentioned improvements along with features such as a highly efficient enhanced copper tube condenser; heavy duty three phase fan motors; liquid line kit with sealed filter; vertical receiver with isolation valves; fan cycling, suction line piping, crankcase heater; refrigerant pressure relief valve; and a dual pressure (auto reset) control with Refflex® flexible control lines. A host of optional components are available to further customize the units to match the specific refrigeration need: Electric defrost provisions with electronic defrost timers, replaceable core liquid and suction filters, suction accumulator, oil separators, oversized receiver, stacking rack, non-fused disconnect, hail/snow guards, and much more.
